Political tremors in Paris: Without approval by Parliament the budget

by

Prime Minister Elizabeth Bonn took responsibility for the first part of the bill

After seven days of debates in Parliament without a conclusion on the budget, Prime Minister Elizabeth Bonn gave an end last night, announcing: “I take my government’s responsibility for the first part of the budget bill”reports the report of the correspondent in Paris, Olympias Tsipiras.

This right, i.e. to pass a bill without a vote, is given to it by article 49 paragraph 3 of the constitution from the time of Charles de Gaulle, with the aim of avoiding a potential chaos, in case of non-cohesion in the Parliament.

Upon hearing the Prime Minister’s statements regarding the implementation of the article in question, the 4 parties of the left in the Nupes (Melanchon) coalition submitted the first motion of censure, while a second one is expected today from the extreme right of Le Pen. French President Macron threatens to “dissolve Parliament and hold new elections” if the motion of impeachment passes.

They will provide the solution Republicans;

A potential lifeline for the government remains the right-wing Republicans, who, although they consider the use of Article 49 undemocratic, do not want to vote based on left and far-right criteria, nor do they want the country to find itself without a budget in 2023.

In any case, article 49 is expected to be implemented in the second part of the budget bill, which concerns social security.
