Ukrainian armed forces, “crushing the so-called second strongest army in the world”, claimed the head of the Ukrainian state

In his speech last night, referring to the completion of eight months since the outbreak of the war, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky judged that Russia is failing in terms of the goals it had set when it invaded his country on February 24.

The Ukrainian armed forces, the head of state claimed, “are crushing the so-called second strongest army in the world.”

“The sense of defeat in Russia is getting stronger”, he added and underlined that while this country was once an important factor on the international stage, today it is increasingly “isolated” diplomatically. He also assured that his army is recapturing territory every day.

The entire country, including the Crimean peninsula, which Russia annexed in 2014, will be “liberated”, he reiterated, while warning Ukrainians that the coming winter will be “the harshest in our history” because of the damage caused by Russian strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
