The discussions that take place with Ankara to buy Eurofighter from Turkey confirmed the British Minister of Defence, Ben Wallace while expressing his admiration for the development of the Turkish defense industry.

“I have been visiting Turkey for many years. I have seen extraordinary growth in Turkish defense industries and partnerships. The Turkish defense industry is going from strength to strength. The skills are amazing and it was important for me to come and see them,” said Ben Wallace.

Asked whether Britain could supply Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft to Turkey, he said: “Definitely yes, but it depends, obviously, on the Turkish air force and the Turkish government.” I recently asked Minister Akar to come and visit me.

Ben Wallace admitted that Britain is considering a defense industry partnership with Turkey, stressing that “we already have a partnership and have always been very keen to explore more”.
