THE Elon Musk (seems to) take up his weapon against misinformation with (his) “draconian law” he announced for Twitter. “From now on, any Twitter handle that engages in misinformation without clearly stating ‘parody’ will be permanently suspended,” he explained.
It is noted that handles are widely used on the internet (most recently YouTube), and are unique identities, usually based on the user’s username (of the @name type).

“Wide verification will democratize journalism and strengthen the voice of the people,” said the eccentric midwife.
Twitter has suffered a “huge drop in revenue” due to advertisers stopping advertising on the social networking platform, Musk admitted publicly last Friday.
In a tweet, Musk blamed “activist groups that pressure advertisers.” He insisted that Twitter had not changed its strategy for curbing content, and added that the company was doing “everything we could to appease activists.” And he concluded by stating that “It is completely unacceptable! They are trying to destroy free speech in America.”
