Also many houses especially in the coastal areas were literally uprooted by the fury of the winds.

More than 230,000 Florida homes and businesses were without power, according to PowerOutage.us.

Additionally, 15 shelters have been opened along Florida’s east coast, according to the state’s governor, Ron Desandes.
