‘Provocative’: Iran accuses Olaf Solz of ‘undiplomatic’ behavior

According to sources at the headquarters of EL.AS, the procedures for the measures that will be implemented during the established three-day celebration of the Polytechnic University’s anniversary are in full progress.

The Iranian regime blamed the German chancellor Olaf Solz for “undiplomatic” behavior after strongly criticizing the regime’s violence against protesters and expressing support for new sanctions.

In his weekly video podcast released this weekend, Soltz condemned the regime’s “outbursts of violence” in Tehran. “What kind of government are you that shoot your own citizens?” he asked.

The social democrat called for an immediate end to violence against protesters and the release of political prisoners.

The Iranian government dismissed the criticism and in turn expressed dismay at Soltz’s words.

“The comments of the German Chancellor they were challenging, interventionist and undiplomatic”, foreign ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani said on Sunday (November 13th), according to several German media outlets, which cited the Iranian foreign ministry’s website.

Kanani called on Berlin to act more “responsibly”, as sabotaging a historically developed relationship could “leave serious damage”.

Meanwhile, Solz also backed additional sanctions against the country, which EU foreign ministers will discuss when they meet on Monday. “We want to further increase the pressure on [ιρανική] political leadership,” he said.

This could include entry bans and asset freezes for over 30 political leaders and organisations.

Iran has seen ongoing large-scale protests since September following the death of Iranian Kurdish woman Masha Amini, who was arrested for allegedly not wearing her headscarf properly and was under police surveillance. The country’s authorities reacted with harsh and often violent action against the protesters.
