The meeting was announced by the office of the Turkish president and by visual material of the Turkish network TRT
The president of the United States, Joe Biden met with the Turkish president Tayyip Erdogan on the sidelines of the G-20 summit in Bali, according to information from Erdogan’s office and footage from Turkish state broadcaster TRT.
Topics on the agenda of the meeting could include renewing the international agreement on Ukrainian grain exports, Ankara’s request for F-16 jets and Sunday’s bombing in Istanbul, for which the Turkish leadership rejected the Kurdish organizations.
As TRT broadcasts, the meeting took place without the presence of journalists. The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlut Cavusogluthe finance minister Noureddine Nebati and the Minister of Defense Hulusi Akar.
In his statements a few days ago, Erdogan said he would discuss with Biden Turkey’s long-standing request to extradite self-imposed imam Fethullah Gulen to the US, whom the Turkish government accuses of masterminding the 2016 coup attempt.
Turkey is also seeking to win Biden’s approval to buy 40 new F-s and about 80 kits to modernize its fighters.
