Dmitry Peskov on the missile: “Much more professional” the response of the Americans and Biden – Warsaw could immediately say that these were fragments had nothing to do with Russia

Moscow called on Warsaw and the EU on Wednesday to apologize for reports that fragments of the missile that killed two people on Polish soil it was russian speaking of “Russophobia” and “hysteria”.

“The president of Poland called the fall of the missile an ‘accident’. Yesterday we heard the hysteria of Polish officials and politicians. The Polish sections, who allowed themselves anti-Russian attacks and summoned Ambassador (Sergei) Andreyev at midnight, don’t want to apologize?” the representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs asked via Telegram Maria Zakharova.

As for the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky the Russian official quipped that he “sits in a bunker and doesn’t understand why even the most notorious Russophobes repudiated his version of a ‘Russian missile in Poland.’ He can’t understand that he was put in charge of a gang of robbers in Ukraine to do the dirty work and not dictate to his ‘handlers’ what to do.”

“Warsaw could immediately tell it was not a Russian missile”

“The fragments of the missile that fell on Tuesday in Poland do not give reason for escalation. Warsaw could immediately say that these were fragments of an S-300 missile that had nothing to do with Russia,” said the representative of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov.

“It is a fact that there was no reason for escalation. The Poles had every opportunity to immediately declare that these were fragments of an S-300 missile. Therefore, all experts would have immediately realized that the Russian Armed Forces had nothing to do with this missile,” he said.

Peskov stressed that Russia is in no way responsible for this situation. “As for the incident in Poland, Russia has nothing to do with it. Let’s call things as they are,” said Peskov according to TASS.

He described Europe’s response to the incident as another example “frantic Russophobia, which had no real data to base it on.” “In fact, high-ranking officials in various countries have made statements without having a clue of exactly what happened or what the real cause was,” he said.

Peskov pointed out that this incident showed once again that “one should never rush to make judgments and statements that can escalate the situation, especially at such critical moments. No hasty statements should be made before accurate information is obtained.”

“The response of the Americans and Biden is much more professional”

The Kremlin spokesman gave the example of a much more restrained reaction from Washington.

“In this case, it makes sense to pay attention to the restrained and much more professional answer of the American side and the American president,” he said.

“No, I don’t know anything about that,” he clarified, when asked if Russian authorities had contacted the United States and NATO to prevent an escalation.

Peskov noted, however, that they exist communication channels between the defense ministries of Russia and the United States. He again underlined “a rather restrained reaction of the Americans, which is in stark contrast to the absolutely hysterical reactions of the Polish side and a number of other countries.”

Peskov urged the media to ask Warsaw questions about why this happened, and “to ask Polish officials to be more restrained and more balanced and professional whenever they talk about such sensitive and potentially dangerous issues.”

“Disproportionate Reaction”

The representative of the Russian president drew attention to the fact that Europe had not shown such a wave of reaction to the explosions of the Nord Stream pipelines that delivered gas from Russia.

Moreover, Peskov noted, no one is going to raise this issue now. “We should all pay close attention to the ‘blackout’ being diligently maintained about this case,” he added.
