Jim Carrey mocks Moscow for banning him from Russia: ‘We’ll always have Paris’

Russia announced Monday that it would ban 100 prominent Canadians, including the 60-year-old actor, from entering its territory in response to Canadian sanctions targeting Russian journalists and actors in October.

Carey was challenged by Canadian author Margaret Atwood. “Damn it! Jim Carrey and I had planned a little naughty escape the weekend in Moscow. Guess we’ll have to replace it with Kyiv” Atwood joked on Twitter.

“Yes, Margaret Atwood, I’m afraid the worst has happened. Russia banned us from entering… but 100 Canadians’ problems don’t equal a hill of beans in this crazy world! We’ll always have Paris. I’m happy to look at you little one” replied the actor, referencing Humphrey Bogart and Ygrid Bergman in the unforgettable film Casablanca.
