Zelensky, in an interview with the British newspaper Financial Times, said that “if someone is ready to propose to us a way to liberate Crimea by non-military means, I will be absolutely in favor.” “If the solution doesn’t include taking back Crimea, nobody should waste their time on that. It’s a waste of time,” he added.
Peskov pointed out that some media “absolutely misinterpreted the essence of this statement”, interpreting it “almost as President Zelensky’s readiness to deal with this issue not by military means, but by peaceful talks.”
“This is a completely wrong interpretation,” Peskov argued. “You know that from the beginning – in fact, the president [της Ρωσίας Βλαντίμιρ Πούτιν] mentioned it more than once, even before the start of the ‘special military operation’ – the Ukrainian constitution says that Crimea must be recovered by force.
