In an e-mail sent to the staff of the international organization’s offices in Ankara, the danger in shopping malls, bus stations and airports is particularly highlighted.

Embassies of European countries in Ankara have been informed of threats against them, at the same time that Belgrade advised Serbs to avoid traveling to Turkey for fear of terrorist attacks.

The Reuters agency reports that it has been informed from three embassies of Western European countries and an international organization that received a warning from the Turkish authorities regarding threats to the safety of their staff.

An e-mail sent to staff at the international body’s offices in Ankara, which was shared with Reuters, highlighted the risk in shopping malls, bus stations and airports.

It is not specified which embassies or which organization received the relevant information from the Turkish authorities.

Earlier, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic advised citizens to avoid traveling to Turkey and Ankara in particular, warning of the possibility of terrorist attacks.

There was no reaction from Turkey’s Interior and Defense ministries, Reuters notes.

It is recalled that six people were killed by the attack on a busy shopping street in Istanbul two weeks ago. Turkish authorities attributed the responsibility to Kurdish extremists. Both the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and the Kurdish fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have denied any involvement.
