The representative of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs spoke of “a well-planned campaign of terror and intimidation of the embassies and the consul of Ukraine” – Kuleba calls for measures from foreign governments

Several Ukrainian embassies in Europe have received “bloody packages” containing animal eyes, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleg Nikolenko said in a Facebook post today.

As he explained, such packages have been received by the embassies of Ukraine in Hungary, the Netherlands, Poland, Croatia and Italy, as well as the consulates general of the country in Naples (Italy), Krakow (Poland) and the consulate in Brno (Czech Republic).

Nikolenko clarified that these packages, which had been doused in a liquid with a special color and smell, arrived at the Ukrainian embassies after the series of letter-bombs detected in the previous days in Spain.

The representative of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spoke of “a well-planned campaign of terror and intimidation of the embassies and consul of Ukraine” and repeated the statement of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry that “these efforts are futile. We will continue to work effectively for Ukraine’s victory.”

Nikolenko also said that the entrance to the ambassador’s apartment in the Vatican had been vandalized, while an embassy source in Rome said that human excrement had been placed in front of the door.

The embassy in the US received a letter containing an article critical of Ukraine, he said. The letter, like most of the others, came from a European country, he said, without elaborating.

By order of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Kulebas, all Ukrainian embassies and consulates will henceforth have enhanced security measures.

“We call on foreign governments to guarantee the maximum protection of Ukrainian diplomatic institutions in accordance with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations,” concludes the announcement of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
