Russia: Explosions at two military airports – Three dead and several injured

The first explosion occurred near the city of Ryazan and the second in the city of Saratov

Russia received a double blow at two military airports.

Originally noted explosion on a fuel tanker near the city of Ryazan as a result of which three people lost their lives, while six others were injured.

At the same time, according to the BBC, two other people were allegedly injured in explosion at an airport in the Saratov regionwhere Russian long-range strategic bombers are based at Engels Air Force Base.

It is not known what caused the explosions. Both areas are hundreds of kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

The regional governor of Saratov said security forces were checking what he called “reports of an incident at a military facility.”

These reports – of two explosions at two different military sites – will feed speculation that Ukraine may be behind themsays BBC Russian editor Steven Rosenberg.
