Russian President Vladimir Putin today visited the bridge linking the annexed Crimean peninsula with southern Russia – a showcase project of his administration.
Russia annexed Ukraine’s Crimean peninsula in 2014.

An ambush truck attack on October 8 caused severe damage and blocked traffic on one of the bridge’s two car lanes.
Russia blamed the attack on Ukrainian military intelligence and has since responded with strikes on Ukraine’s energy facilities and other key infrastructure.
The latest wave of Russian strikes took place today, killing at least three civilians.
