Earlier yesterday, the German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock condemned the execution of a young man who participated in anti-regime demonstrations via Twitter. “The inhumanity of the Iranian regime knows no bounds,” Ms Burbock wrote in her post.
Iran’s ambassador to Berlin has been summoned to the foreign ministry, a source close to German diplomacy said on Thursday, on the day the execution of a young man involved in the protests that have rocked the Islamic Republic since September was announced.
No details of what was leaked were released.
Earlier yesterday, German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock tweeted that “the inhumanity of the Iranian regime knows no bounds”.
Mohsen Saqari “was tried and executed in a perforated process with summary procedures because he disagreed with the regime”, the head of German diplomacy continued in an indignant tone. “But the threat of execution will not quell the people’s desire for freedom,” he added.
Iranian authorities on Thursday executed, for the first time since the start of mass protests that have rocked the country, a man accused of stabbing a paramilitary and blocking a Tehran avenue.
The Islamic Republic has turned into a theater of mass mobilizations drowned in blood. The trigger for this protest movement was the death on September 16 of Mahsha Amini, a 22-year-old Iranian-Kurdish woman, at the hands of the moral police.
