Turkish newspaper lays out road map to follow after US House of Representatives lifts restrictions on F-16s
Hürriyet gained access to the road map to be followed after the US House of Representatives lifted the conditions for the F-16s.
Initially, according to SKAI’s correspondent, Manolis Kostides, the Foreign Ministers of the two countries will meet in the USA in January. After this meeting, the process will be set in motion. Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan may travel to the US and meet with Joe Biden.
If the process goes smoothly, the US State Department will inform Congress about the sale of the F16s. If there is no objection within 30 days, it will take effect.
For the sale to take place, not a single senator in Congress must object.

After this process, the US will present Turkey with an offer text, and if the US receives a positive response to the offer, the procurement process will begin.
It also became known that Turkish officials – during their previous visit to the USA – made two requests to meet with the Head of the US Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, Bob Menendez, but HE did not want to meet with them.
