The situation in the occupied territories is getting worse every day, says German Foreign Minister Analena Burbock
After Chancellor Olaf Solz yesterday in the SZ newspaper, German Foreign Minister Analena Burbock also believes that the end of the war in Ukraine is not in sight any time soon. This is an assessment that she has repeated in the past, leaving zero hopes for a truce on the Ukrainian front, at least in the immediate future.
In an interview with Sunday’s Bild, the German Foreign Minister states that she does not see substantial and honest indications that at the moment advocate a Russian withdrawal from the Ukrainian territories.
“No one else started this war but Vladimir Putin. The war can end tomorrow if Putin wants it,” says Analena Burbok in the interview.
At the same time, he continues to argue that there can be no ceasefire on Russian terms. “Something like this will not end the terror, quite the opposite,” he notes, saying that people in Ukraine are asking for nothing more for Christmas this year than freedom and security for themselves, their families and their country.
The situation in the occupied territories is getting worse every day
In fact, as he points out to Bild, the situation for Ukrainians is getting worse day by day, especially in the territories that the Russians already own. In addition to interruptions in electricity and heating, international humanitarian aid does not even reach the occupied territories, while, according to Burbok, the testimonies of Ukrainians, who “live daily in fear of being kidnapped, tortured or murdered by the Russians, are shocking” occupying forces.” It is worth noting that last night in a special charity program broadcast by the German network ZDF and in which Analena Berbock participated with other leading German politicians, 2.4 million euros were collected for the children of Ukraine.
Finally, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the Ukrainian people are awarded the important International Charlemagne Prize of the city of Aachen for 2023, sending another message of support for the Ukrainian resistance.
