“Russian President Vladimir Putin consulted for a long time with Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, and Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu before the invasion,” said a spokesman for the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has postponed the invasion of Ukraine three times, the spokesman for the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said today. Vadim Skibitsky, according to the website of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform reports.

“Russian President Vladimir Putin consulted for a long time with Valery Gerasimov, chief of the General Staff of the Russian armed forces, and Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu before the invasion and postponed the attack three times. According to our information, the last time the invasion was postponed to mid-February. The (Russian) FSB pushed Gerasimov into the invasion. The Russians were confident that they had made adequate preparations because they had invested huge resources in it,” Skibitsky said.

At the same time, the Russian General Staff seriously underestimated the situation, as the Russian military units were supplied with food, ammunition and fuel for only three days. In addition, the Ukrainian intelligence services received a lot of information from local residents, who accurately reported “how many invaders were in each inhabited place and in which buildings.”

It has been announced that the Ukrainian Defense Forces neutralized approximately 98,800 Russian soldiers between February 24 and December 19, 520 of them in the last 24 hours.
