Shocking video-documentaries before and after the bus tragedy in Bucharest.

Footage from inside the bus just seconds after the crash shows the roof of the vehicle falling onto the seats.

On their knees, the passengers try to give first aid to the injured.

“Take a breath” can be heard saying the voice of a man who is trying to rescue a trapped passenger inside the bus.

“There was that second of silence where we couldn’t understand what was going on and then voices, blood, squeals, a little girl shouting mommy mommy I can’t see mommy my glasses. And people running outside panicking holding their heads. it was scary.” describes a woman who was on the fatal bus.

This particular passenger was miraculously saved as she was sitting just 2 seats away from Nikolaos Chlopsios, the 53-year-old from Larissa who lost his life in the shocking accident.

The news is good for the 62-year-old woman who was in a coma, as she was extubated in the morning. 13 injured remain in the hospital, most of whom are expected to be discharged.

There are many questions about the accident.

Mainly because the driver ignored the successive warning signs, both on the road surface and along the route.

Video from a car behind the coach captures the bus seconds before the crash, making a sudden lane change and heading into the tunnel, where moments later it will crash into the pillar warning about the height of vehicles that can pass.

The driver claims that he chose this route by following the directions of a navigator.

“This gentleman was using google maps. Simply because this navigator does not have an option for a bus, unfortunately he could not understand that it does not pass through there,” describes a passenger.

The driver tested negative for alcohol and drugs, while the passengers claim he was not speeding.

“He was not running anywhere and at any point of the route. He was shocked. He had grabbed the steering wheel and was stuck over there. And when he got out, he was in a state of shock,” says the passenger.

According to the driver’s lawyer, the accident was caused by the material from which the height limiter was made.

Undoubtedly, a key question arising in the wake of the tragedy is how much of a role was played by the fact that there was no second driver on the bus, as he declared himself disabled at the last minute – and was forced to make the entire 16-hour journey from Greece to Bucharest by himself.

The 51-year-old driver gave a statement to the Romanian authorities and was released.

“He was not very experienced. He has been to Romania two more times. The second driver took the bus to the border and from there the first driver picked it up,” says the Owner of the Larissa Tourist Agency, Yiannis Batziolas.

“The driver met all the conditions. Some that sound like time violations and such are not even worth dealing with,” adds Christos Bardas, Bus Owner/

The point, however, is called a carniola.

According to the Romanian media, it was only in September that works were carried out on this particular tunnel. With the asphalt paving, however, the level of the road rose significantly, as a result of which vehicles over 3.5 meters in height could not pass.

Since then there have been at least 5 traffic accidents.

The latter was unfortunately to be fatal.
