The new puppy that drove the White House crazy was introduced to us by Biden (vid)

by

A welcome distraction for a president facing political turmoil: Joe Biden tweeted Monday the youngest White House resident with four paws, a puppy christened “Commander.”

“Welcome to the White House, Commander”, can be read below the photo snapshot uploaded to the official account of the American president on the social networking site (@POTUS) and depicts the puppy galloping with a tennis ball in his mouth.

A video posted afterwards shows the public the “new little one of the Biden family”. The puppy approaches the president – whose alternative title is Commander in chief – that is, the head of the armed forces by his office – and he caresses him saying “hello my friend”.

The footage also shows Mr Biden tossing a tennis ball and entering the presidency building holding the puppy leash with his wife Jill by his side.

The US president sees his popularity at a standstill as he faces political roadblocks on Capitol Hill and the resurgence of the new coronavirus pandemic.

His services did not give further details about his new friend, whose arrival will surely arouse curiosity in a country where pets attract a lot of love and care.

Joe and Jill Biden moved to the White House with their two dogs, German Shepherds. They announced in June via Twitter the death of the eldest, Champ, at the age of 13.

The youngest, the Major, is the first presidential dog rescued from a shelter.

But Major, who bit two employees in the presidency within a few weeks, was sent back to Delaware, to the Biden family home, mainly for training.

In the spring it was said that the presidential couple would have a cat, but this plan has not progressed so far.
