His hideout Andrew Tatewhich was raided by the police, was filled with guns, expensive cars and a chessboard dedicated to his father.

THE 36-year-old influencer arrested in his country house in the town of Pipera, Voluntari, on the outskirts of Bucharest, together with his brother Tristan and two Romanians, on suspicion of rape, human trafficking and the establishment of a criminal organization.

Shortly after his arrest, the following comment was posted on Twitter: “The Matrix has sent its agents.” The influencer likes to often showcase his luxurious lifestyle and show off his supercars.

Interior photos, posted on his and his brother’s Instagram pages, show plush and leather sofas, a high-tech security room with multiple live CCTV links and glass display cases for kickboxing belts.

In a James Bond-themed glass closet are guns and black jackets. A room with wood paneling and leather armchairs appears to be the room where he recorded his confrontation with Greta Thunberg.

He also owns a large chessboard as a tribute to his father, Emory Tate, an international master who was among the top 2,000 active players in the world.

A video call studio is located 500 meters from the main property, where several women were found during a police raid in April.

His online spat with Greta Thunberg is believed to have contributed to his arrest, as he posed next to a box of Romanian pizza, potentially confirming his location to authorities.

Tate, a former kickboxer, was banned from Twitter in 2017 for his misogynistic views and hate speech, but was reinstated last month. He still has a presence on other social media platforms, on TikTok, for example, he has been banned from having an account, but content posted with the “hashtag Andrew Tate” has been viewed billions of times.

He first rose to prominence in 2016 when he was fired from a popular reality show after a video surfaced showing him assaulting a woman with a belt. He claimed that the video was edited.

He has also made the outrageous claim that rape victims “bear some responsibility for the assault they receive” and has described women as the “property” of men.
He has also described how he would violently attack a woman who accuses him of infidelity, saying he would “pull out a knife, hit her in the face and grab her by the throat”.

Therefore, concerns have been raised about its influence on young people, especially young children. Tate has denied holding misogynistic views and accused his critics of “twisting the facts”, although he has also described himself as the “king of toxic masculinity”.
