Andrew Tate: How the “toxic” influencer became rich and considered women…objects!

by

His misogynistic videos on TikTok, which have garnered more than 11.6 billion views, helped him grow his fortune considerably

When Andrew Tate bought his first mobile phone at the age of 14 with money earned in his uncle’s fish business, there were no signs that he would one day be worth millions.

But the controversial former kick-boxing championcurrently being held in Romania as part of a human trafficking and rape investigation, claims he is now a “trillionaire”.

His misogynistic videos on TikTok, which have garnered more than 11.6 billion views, have helped him grow his fortune considerably. In fact Tate, 36, claims to be worth £100m and is often seen flaunting his cash with expensive cars, private jets and designer clothes.

His fortune is also believed to have grown through cryptocurrencies. His online ‘Hustler Academy’, where 127,000 mostly men and boys pay him £39 a month for advice on getting rich and coping with life, is another source of income.

In an interview he said: “I don’t want to brag, but I am a trillionaire, the first in the world. I was single for a long time. I made my first million when I was 27 and then I had 100 million by the age of 31.”

Companies House documents show that although he lives in Romania, he recently became a director of two UK companies.

One is a car dealership based in Preston, while the other appears to be a car hire and events company. Neither appears to be bringing in huge sums of money, at least according to the most recent accounts.

In August the ‘toxic’ influencer’s mother, Eileen Tate, was still living in the same £275,000 home. She belongs to a housing agency in the Luton area, where she moved with her three children from Chicago in the late 1990s.

Tate is understood to be very close to his brother Tristan, who moved to Romania with him, but is not related to his younger sister Janine, who is a lawyer in Kentucky, USA.

“I have a sister. My sister and I are not in contact,” revealed Andrew Tate. In fact, he and his brother have described Janine as a feminist, who apparently disapproves of his views as well.

His father, Emory Tate, who died in 2015, was a high-level chess player who earned the nickname “alien” because his game was said to be unreal. During his career he was a six-time Nevada champion and a five-time US Armed Forces champion.

Mrs Tate brought up her children in relative poverty, having moved to the Bedfordshire town when Tate was 11 years old.

After leaving school he worked in sales, where he earned commission on windows and solar panels, bought a motorbike and began training as a kickboxer at Storm Gym in Luton.

He went on to become a world champion in the sport, but it’s his post-kickboxing role as a social media influencer that has proven highly controversial.

In 2016, he was “thrown” out of a well-known reality show, after a video appeared showing him beating an ex-girlfriend with a belt. He later stated that it was consensual and that they remained friends.

Impressively, his comments on mental health – he described people who feel they need treatment as ‘useless’ – have resonated hugely with his… fans. However, his father suffered from serious mental health problems. He has also described how he would violently attack a woman who accuses him of infidelity, saying he would “pull out a knife, hit her in the face and grab her by the throat”.

After his racing career and his failed appearance on the hit reality show, it may have seemed like Tate would fade away, but soon his controversial libertarian views on social media attracted the admiration of the likes of Donald Trump Jnr, Nigel Farage and Tommy Robinson.

As his online fame grew, he left Britain with his brother to settle in Romania, where he continued to build an online audience. He is now said to have bought three casinos in Bucharest.

He has been banned from Twitter several times after declaring that victims of sexual assault should share “responsibility” for their fate and mocking those seeking mental health support as “useless”.

Andrew Tate’s hideout, which was raided by police, was filled with guns, expensive cars and a chessboard dedicated to his father.

The 36-year-old influencer was arrested at his summer house in the town of Pipera, Voluntari, on the outskirts of Bucharest, along with his brother Tristan and two Romanians, on suspicion of rape, human trafficking and forming a criminal organization.

Shortly after his arrest, the following comment was posted on Twitter: “The Matrix has sent its agents.”

Greta Thunberg also gave a “paid” response to the “toxic” influencer, Andrew Tate. The Swedish activist, who had been the target of Andrew Tate’s incendiary statements, was publicly placed on the occasion of his arrest in Romania.

In particular, the popular activist wrote on Twitter: “This is what happens when you don’t recycle the pizza box”, causing tens of thousands of comments and hundreds of thousands of retweets.
