According to the press, some of the assumptions made are that Orlandi’s disappearance could be connected to people who in 1981 were involved in the assassination attempt of John Paul II, by the action of the criminal organization of Rome “Banda della Maliana” or that the girl may even have been taken to a nunnery.
As reported by the Italian news agency AdnKronosPope Francisrequested that investigations be reopened and that all testimony, evidence and any possible connections be re-examined.
