Companies and businessmen guaranteeing the transport of military personnel and equipment on behalf of the “aggressor state” are among the targets of the sanctions
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has imposed sanctions on 185 companies and 3 individuals who support what he denounced as Russia’s war against his country, now in its twelfth month.
Companies and businessmen guaranteeing the transport of military personnel and equipment by rail on behalf of the “attacking state” are among the targets of the sanctions, Mr. Zelenskiy announced. He said that the seized resources would be used for Ukraine’s national defense.
The list includes Belarusian companies that help transport Russian military equipment and personnel. Companies that produce and export chemicals, including fertilizers, were also targeted.
According to Mr. Zelensky, Kyiv is working to ensure that other states also freeze the resources of these companies and individuals; he thanked “all those who contribute to the strengthening of sanctions against Russia” and those who investigate and prosecute Russian maneuvers to avoid punitive measures.
Also, the Ukrainian president repeated his demand that Russia be excluded from the Paris Olympics.
Referring to the developments on the fronts, Mr. Zelensky spoke of Russian missile strikes on apartment buildings yesterday Saturday in Kostanivka, Donetsk region, which killed three people and injured 14 others.
The Ukrainian head of state insisted that his military needed longer-range missiles to repel and prevent such attacks.
