The Russian president said Russia is confident of victory in Ukraine, as it was 80 years ago – “We are not sending tanks to the borders of Western countries, we have something else to answer,” Putin threatened
Russian President Vladimir Putin compared today’s battle against Ukraine and its Western allies to Russia’s victory over Nazi Germany in World War II in a speech marking the 80th anniversary of the decisive battle Stalingrad.
Putin said Russia was confident it would win in Ukraine, and it did 80 years ago.
He also said that once again the Russia is at odds with Germany as it criticized Berlin for promising to send Leopard 2 tanks to support Ukraine on the battlefield.
Russia is not sending tanks to the borders of Western countries, but it has more than armored vehicles to meet threats, Vladimir Putin emphasized and continued:
“Those who are dragging European countries, including Germany, into another war against Russia, making particularly irresponsible statements and seeking to defeat Russia on the battlefield, obviously do not understand that a modern war against Russia will be completely different. for them. We’re not sending tanks to their borders, but we have something to respond to, and it won’t just be the use of armored vehicles.”
Putin emphasized that “everyone should understand this.” “Those who threaten us seem unable to grasp the simple truth that our entire nation, all of us, have grown up and absorbed the traditions of our people. It was the generation of winners who gave their blood, sweat and tears. To create the country we inherited from them” he noted.
“We know that despite the official propaganda efforts of Western elites that are not friendly to us, we have many friends around the world, including the American continent, in North America and Europe,” the Russian president said.
He noted that “those who drag European countries, including Germany, into a new war with Russia, and even more irresponsibly declare it a fait accompli, those who expect to defeat Russia on the battlefield, obviously do not understand that a modern war with Russia will be very different for them,” he added.
Peskov: Russia will make greater use of its capabilities
Russia will make greater use of its capabilities to respond as the West increases arms shipments to Ukraine, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said today.
“As new weapons are sent by the collective West, Russia will use more of its potential to respond as part of the special military operation,” state news agency TASS reported, citing a Kremlin spokesman.
Peskov gave this response when asked to comment on a statement made earlier today by Russian President Vladimir Putin that Russia’s response would go beyond the use of armored vehicles.
