Ankara is constantly pulling the strings with Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar taking the “baton” of provocative statements from Tsavousoglu, unleashing new threats, including armaments on Cyprus.
“Unfortunately in Greece some politicians do not stop the actions and statements that increase the tension. On the one hand, by provoking and encouraging other countries, they are discussing new alliances, while we are also in the NATO alliance, that is what they are trying to do. On the other hand they have a love a sevda, for armaments. “But if they do this in order to gain some supremacy over Turkey, we repeat that it is a futile effort,” said the Turkish Defense Minister, adding:
“Our call for dialogue for a meeting is not a sign of weakness. We are capable and determined to defend our interests and rights. In Cyprus, too, there is the reality of the existence of the Turks and there is no other solution without accepting this reality. “And because no result has come from the meetings, we have clarified our decision for two sovereign independent states in Cyprus.”
