The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, ordered an airlift of aid for earthquake victims
A 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck southern Turkey’s Kahramanmaras province early Monday, and another 7.6-magnitude quake hit the same area in the afternoon, killing at least 3,432 people and injuring 21,103 others so far, according to the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority. Need of the country (AFAD).
In Syria, government and rescue officials said nearly 1,622 people have been killed and another 3,649 injured in the quakes so far.

Qatar announced today (Tuesday 7/2) that it will send 10,000 caravans to Turkey and Syria after the violent earthquakes that hit the two countries.
In a statement, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the move “is part of Qatar’s efforts to contribute to the relief of those affected by the earthquake in Syria and Turkey.”

On Monday, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, ordered aid to be sent to Turkey for earthquake victims.
State news agency QNA said a rescue team, a mobile hospital unit, medicine, tents, food and clothing would also be sent to the country.
