Members of the 2nd EMAK from Thessaloniki carried out, in deviation from the protocols, searches with a rescue dog in the apartment building where the two Greeks lived, while as an exception the Greek EMAK made a request today to operate at the specific point and got the “green” light.
The information, however, says that the Greeks are estimated to be trapped several meters below the top of the debris.
Earlier, speaking to SKAI from Antioch, Professor Ev. Lekkas said that they cannot find the exact location of the missing as “those building blocks (where they lived) have completely collapsed and we cannot find streets, numbers, etc.”
“For us, the fact that they are Greeks signifies something very important and for symbolic reasons we must carry out a search and rescue operation,” said the representative of the Fire Department, Yiannis Artophios, speaking to ERT.
Speaking to ERT, the nephew of the missing, Basel Menounet, appealed to continue the search in the apartment building where his relatives lived, while announcing that a man was pulled alive from the wreckage of their house yesterday.
