The newborn girl – orphaned from the first minute of her life – is recovering in a hospital incubator, her body covered in bruises and abrasions.
Little Aya – means miracle in Arabic – has no one in the world, her family was killed in the earthquake. But thousands of people from all over the planet expressed their love for her and their intention to adopt her and give her a new family that she will know and love as her own.

Thousands of people on social media have asked for details to adopt her, while the director of the Afrin hospital has received dozens of offers to give the baby up for adoption.
However, a father of a 4-month-old girl himself, Dr Khalid Attiah is adamant that they are not going to give the child away at the moment unless all possibility of finding a relative is exhausted.
The… good doctor takes care of little Aya as his own child and his wife breastfeeds her together with their own daughter, “like a family”, as he told the BBC.
