THE Eiffel Tower lit up tonight in the colors of the Ukrainian flag, on the occasion of the completion of one year since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The purpose is to confirm the (French) capital’s “unwavering support for the Ukrainian people and its willingness to contribute to the reconstruction of the country,” said a spokesman for the Paris municipal authority.

The iconic Paris landmark will remain illuminated in the colors of the Ukrainian flag until Sunday.

Event in Trafalgar Square, London

In Britainhundreds of Londoners gathered at Trafalgar Square for the manifestation of solidarity with the Ukrainian people. Among the celebrities who will deliver anti-war messages are English actress Helen Mirren and Ukrainian singer Jamala, winner of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest.
