Ukraine today ordered vulnerable citizens to leave the country city ​​of Kupyansk, on the northeastern front, which is at risk of falling into the hands of Russian forces, as announced by the military command.

“The mandatory evacuation of families with children and residents who face difficulty in moving has begun in the Kupyansk community, due to its continuous shelling by Russian forces,” Kharkiv’s military administration said.

The governor of Kharkiv region, Oleg Sinegubov, esaid that many communities, including Kupyansk, were shelled by Russian forces.

Kupyansk is about 100 kilometers from Kharkiv. Before the war, about 30,000 people lived there. The Russians captured the city a year ago, but the Ukrainians liberated it in September after a surprise counterattack. Russian forces, after mobilizing thousands of reserves, have recently taken their turn on the counterattack.
