Omicron Outbreak: Europe Shock Record – US Shock with 1 Million Infections

by

One after another, records are broken in Europe with the explosion of cases in many countries due to the predominance of the Omicron mutation.

In France, according to the Minister of Health, the infections exceed 300,000 per day, after the New Year.

A black record is also recorded in Spain with 372,766 daily cases. This means that every second 5 Spaniards are infected with the Omicron variant.

Respectively, a new record was set in the last 24 hours and Britain, where 218,724 cases were identified.

A similar picture was presented by Italy, which recently announced 170,844 daily cases, ie 2 Italians per second are infected by Omicron.

At the same time, the new data coming from USA, as within 24 hours more than one million new cases of coronavirus were detected. The Omicron variant gallops and beats even young children, with 500 children being admitted to hospitals daily. In fact, for the first time in almost four months, the United States is enrolling more than 100,000 patients in coronavirus hospitals.

And while the number of 1 million cases a day is shocking, the Omicron mutation accounts for 95% of new infections. Anthony Fauci’s statement that the increase in the number of cases in the USA follows an almost vertical curve is also characteristic. In this context, several schools are delaying their return to classes, and although decisions are made locally, they affect around 450,000 students.

Concern about mutation from Cameroon
Meanwhile, the new Cameroonian variant found in southeastern France has caused concern, as it is still unknown how it behaves.

According to the first information, the zero patient had arrived in France from Cameroon, where he had stayed for three days, and had mild respiratory symptoms.

He did a rapid test, tested positive for the coronavirus, performed a molecular test and the new variant was identified. Immediately after, the contacts from his relatives were checked and 7 adults and 5 children with the new mutation were identified. The concern is that on the spike protein, which vaccines target to kill the virus, there are 46 mutations that make it more contagious.

At present, this variant has not been identified in other countries, however there is no official announcement from the French health authorities and it has not been designated as a variant under investigation (VOC) by the World Health Organization.
