The motions of impeachment against the French government tabled today by a small group of independent and far-right MPs will be discussed on Mondayat 16.00 in the afternoon (17.00 Greek time), parliamentary sources reported to AFP.

It will be preceded by the meeting of the bureau (in which the heads of the parliamentary groups and other prominent officials of the National Assembly participate) which will ratify the agenda, so that the work of the House can resume at 16.00.

The deputies of the independent parliamentary group Liot they earlier tabled a “cross-party” motion of censure, which was also co-signed by MPs from the left-wing Nupes coalition. A few minutes later, MPs from the far-right National Alarm tabled their own motion of censure in turn.

“We will vote on all the motions of censure that will be tabled,” said far-right lawmaker Laure Lavallette. Unlike the censure motion of the National Assembly, Liot’s is expected to be voted on by MPs from many factions.

For the government to fall, the motion of censure must be passed by an absolute majority, that is to gather 287 votes. In order for this to happen, however, some 30 of the 61 Republican deputies will have to vote for it, which is considered rather unlikely.
