It is characteristic that at six in the morning – local time – the concentrations of PM10 particles reached 1,667 micrograms per cubic meter, levels that make “the sandstorm the most severe that has occurred in 2023”. This level of pollutants is 37 times greater than the daily average value of 45 micrograms per square meter defined as acceptable by the World Health Organization.
