The trial for the March 2016 terrorist attacks, which killed 32 people and injured at least 300, is ongoing in Brussels.

On the morning of March 22, 2016, two jihadists blew themselves up at Brussels Zaventem International Airport and a third about an hour later in the European capital’s metro.

The defendants were asked to answer about the target of the attacks with Salah Abdeslam noting that “European leaders have formed a coalition against ISIS. They cut to pieces, burned alive innocent people. To say this is collateral damage is an insult. The Islamic State had to react. We needed an answer.”

The French jihadist is one of ten defendants in the trial and has already been sentenced to life in prison without parole in France for the deadly attacks on November 13, 2015.

For his part, El Makouhi said: “We wanted to do the same thing (as in Syria and Iraq) and stop the bombing.”

When Sofian Ayari took the floor, he spoke about his experience in Raqqa, points out the rtl network. He said that when he was injured in the hospital, he became aware that there were vibrations in the building. The doctor explained to him, as he said, that it was from the bombings next to the hospital. “I have never felt such hatred. I was mad with rage. That was the trigger for me,” Agiari is quoted as saying.
