US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced a new $300 million security aid package for Ukraine today, Wednesday.

“This latest package will help Ukraine continue to defend itself bravely against Russia’s brutal, unprovoked and unjustified war,” Blinken said, adding: “Russia could end its war today. Until Russia does, the United States, our allies and partners will stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes,” Blinken said.

According to Anthony Blinlen, the package will include “additional ammunition for high mobility artillery rocket systems, shells, artillery ammunition and tanks, anti-tank weapons, rockets, small arms and ammunition, trucks and trailers for transporting heavy equipment, and spare parts and other field equipment necessary to strengthen the defenders of Ukraine on the battlefield.”

Earlier on Wednesday, a White House spokeswoman said the package comes after “extensive work by the US government over the past several months to meet Ukraine’s demands ahead of its planned counter-attack and to ensure that it has the weapons and equipment that is needed”.
