A few days ago a 30-year-old homeless man, who was impersonating Michael Jackson on a New York subway to secure some money, was murdered after a marine with the help of a friend strangled him while they were riding the subway.

The man’s death was described as a “homicide” by the coroner and judicial authorities are investigating the case, as calls for the arrest of the perpetrator are growing.

The victim was African-American Jordan Neely, aged 30, quite well-known in the city for dressing up as Michael Jackson and dancing in the streets and subways imitating his indlam.

On Monday, Neely got into an argument with two Marines who were riding the subway with him. One of them held him immobilized on the floor while the other put a headlock on him, as a result of which the African-American lost consciousness and was taken to the hospital, where he breathed his last.

The tragic incident was captured on the mobile phone cameras of the other passengers: In the five-minute video, Neely can be seen lying on the floor of the carriage while another man – a 24-year-old marine – is lying on top of him to prevent him from getting up and squeezing his top. of his body. Two other men hold his hands.

Witnesses said that what disturbed the marines was the fact that Neely entered the train and started shouting to the other passengers, begging for help and food and water.

Police questioned the suspect in the strangulation on Monday and then released him. His details have not been released. The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office is investigating the events, reviewing the forensic report, video and photos of the victim’s confrontation with the passengers. He is also gathering eyewitness accounts and will review Neely’s medical records.
