He is trying to rally his voters Kemal Kilicdaroglu after the, for many, surprising defeat of the opposition in the first round.

As reported by Manolis Kostidis, in his statements on Twitter, the leader of the opposition called on the youth to vote, proclaiming that “we will not hand over the country to them – We will fight until the end”. “We will definitely win. Absolutely!!” Kilicdaroglu characteristically stated ahead of the second round, with a portrait of Mustafa Kemal in the background.

“From here I address everyone. We did not find this homeland on the road. We will not surrender our country to the logic that brought in 10 million illegal refugees and immigrants. We will not hand over our country to a so-called world leader who was until recently co-chairman of the ‘Greater Middle East’ project, while now he has come under the direction of Russia, sitting with bowed head and folded hands before its leader.” says the opposition leader, meaning Putin.

“While tens of thousands of civilians died in the earthquake, out of fear he ordered the army to stop, and while people waited for help under the rubble this logic sold blood and tents. We will not hand over the country to them.”

“We will not hand over our homeland to those who, depending on their interests, call Turkish citizens Kurds, then terrorists, then FETO (the terrorist organization of Fethullah Gülen)” he still stated.

“You young people! Stand up straight. Shake off the soil of the dead. Whoever loves his country should go to the polls. We will fight until the end. We will definitely win. Absolutely!!” concludes Kilicdaroglu in his call.

The opposition is trying to mobilize its voters again before second round of the presidential election and Kilicdaroglu mainly targets the vote of young people who “can’t even buy a coffee”.

“We have twelve days, we have to get out of the tunnel and out of the darkness,” wrote Kemal Kilicdaroglu, addressing these young people “who can’t even buy a coffee” in a Turkey undermined by inflation and where citizens aged 18 up to 34 years old represent about a third of the voters.

“Youth is once,” added the 74-year-old Social Democrat candidate, head of a motley coalition of conservatives, nationalists and liberals from the center-right and left.
