Berlin “knocked down” Kiev’s hopes for reinforcements with fighter jets… Germany “can not to play an active role” in the “fighter alliance” promoted by Kiev, the defense minister clarified on Wednesday Boris Pistorius, during a press conference he gave with his British counterpart Ben Wallace, in Berlin.

Mr. Wallace, for his part, clarified that Britain will not provide fighter jets, but will help train Ukrainian pilots.

According to the German News Agency dpa, Chancellor Olaf Scholz has already stated Germany’s inability to contribute to the “fighter alliance”, on the sidelines of the Council of Europe summit, which is taking place in Reykjavik. “We are focused on what we are doing, and that is very important for Ukraine’s defense capability,” Mr. Solz said, referring to the tanks, ammunition and air defense systems already offered by Germany.
