Pandemic UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his wife Carrie hosted a female friend at the official prime ministerial country house in Checkers amid Covid-19 restrictions, the Guardian can reveal.

According to the British newspaper’s report, event organizer Dixie Maloney spent a night at Checkers on May 7, 2021, while indoor gatherings were banned except when deemed “reasonably necessary,” such as for work or childcare.

Ms Maloney is believed to have been informally helping with preparations for the prime minister’s wedding, which took place three weeks later.

A spokesman for Mr Johnson said her stay at Checkers was “entirely legal”, with other sources noting she was helping with the care of the couple’s first-born son as Carrie Simmonds was pregnant with her second child.

A representative for Ms. Maloney stated that she would not do anything that she would consider illegal.
