Russian airstrikes in the industrial city of Krevi Ri in central Ukraine killed at least 10 people early today, according to a new toll announced by local authorities.

“Ten people were killed, another remains under the debris, 28 people were injured, of whom 12 are hospitalized,” Oleksandr Vilkul, the head of the military administration of Krevi Ri, the birthplace of President Volodymyr Zelensky, said via the Telegram app. .

“There are still people under the rubble of a building. There is a fire there,” Serhii Lysak, governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region where Krevi Ri is located, said earlier in a Telegram post. He posted a photo of the apartment complex with smoke billowing from some of the broken windows.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, who was born in Krevi Ry, condemned this attack on his hometown.

“Russian killers continue their war against residential buildings, ordinary cities and people,” he wrote on the Telegram app.

Early this morning, air raid sirens sounded across Ukraine, with Kiev military officials saying air defense forces had destroyed all Russian missiles aimed at the Ukrainian capital.

Ukraine’s top military command announced that the Air Force destroyed 10 of 14 cruise missiles fired by Russia against Ukraine and one of four Iranian-made drones.

For his part, the mayor of Kharkiv (north-east Ukraine) Ihor Terekhov announced that drones attacked “against civilian infrastructure”. The offices of a company and a warehouse were damaged, he said.

So far there is no comment from Russia about these strikes.
