Ukraine’s military, government and private companies are working to build an arsenal of low-cost, easy-to-build drones
New weapon in Ukraine’s “quiver” in the war against Russia. Kiev successfully uses an unmanned aircraft of its own construction with flight range 1,000 kilometersstate arms manufacturer Ukroboronprom announced today Tuesday.
Ukroboronprom representative Natalya Sand posted a selfie on Facebook with smiling General Valery Zaluzny, Air Force Commander Mykola Oleschuk and Ukroboronprom head Yuri Khusev.
It says the photo was taken “after a successful use of the drone with a flight range of 1,000 kilometers.”
But Sand did not provide further details, nor did it say whether the use of the drone means it has been tested or deployed in the conflict.
The Ukrainian military, government and private companies are working to build an arsenal with low cost and easy in terms of construction drones which they hope will turn the tables on the war against Russia. But they are already producing unmanned aerial vehicles that are used for reconnaissance and for attacks.
In the fall of 2022, Ukroboronprom had announced that it was completing construction work on a new unmanned aerial vehicle with a flight range of 1,000 kilometers that would bring explosives weighing 75 kg.
Today the president Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law on the exemption of domestic production of unmanned aerial vehicles from customs duties and value added tax, MP Jaroslav Zelezniak wrote on Telegram.
