THE Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis and President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, “they do have the prospect of making possible a better relationship between the two countries and that will be good,” Chancellor Olaf Solz said a while ago, referring to his conclusions from the meetings he had with the two leaders on the sidelines of the Summit NATO summit in Vilnius. Also, Mr. Soltz emphasized that his government feels obliged “to take care of the good relations of those involved in the Aegean”.

“It is very important to me that we offer our contribution so that relations e.g. between Turkey and the EU, between Turkey and Germany to develop well,” said Mr. Solz in the context of the chancellor’s usual summer interview and pointed out that “this applies, of course, to the relations we have with Greece, we are both members of the EU and we have many common perspectives and views and that is why my talks with the Greek Prime Minister for years have been very friendly, which I consider important.”

“We also feel obliged to take care of good relations of those involved in the Aegean and in this we have repeatedly been partners and this is what we will be. I got the impression that both heads of government – the President and the Prime Minister – do have the prospect of making possible a better relationship between the two countries and that will be good,” added the German Chancellor.
