The Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban argued on Friday that Ukraine’s NATO membership would have triggered a new world war, arguing again against such a prospect.

“If Ukraine had been accepted into NATO, it would mean an immediate world war,” Orban said characteristically in a radio interview.

He added that Ukraine’s plan to join the military alliance had to be prevented and “blocked” at the NATO summit.

And according to Orban, the West wants the Russian-Ukrainian war to continue for a long time.

“The Hungarian government must therefore be prepared for the fact that the war and the sanctions will not disappear soon,” he added.

Orban also criticized the Ukrainian president’s “unusual” communication style Volodymyr Zelensky. “If you are having problems and ask for help, behave appropriately”commented Orban.

He added that even British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace criticized Ukrainian President Zelensky after the NATO summit for “lack of gratitude”.

“Ukrainians are aggressive, they are demanding,” Orban remarked, adding, however, that the world looks different from Ukraine than it does from “our comfortable leather armchairs.”
