An impressive timelapse of the fire fronts currently in progress has been released by the European Organization for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT) which monitors fires across Europe.
In a tweet he uploaded, he presented a timelapse video of the fires that broke out in Greece and Turkey over a period of 24 hours (9:10 on June 17 – 09:00 UTC on June 18).
The video captures the fire in Saronida, while the two outbreaks in Loutraki and Dervenochoria are shown along the way. In a shocking shot and while night is falling, the fire can still be seen in Dervenochoria.
Extreme temperatures are being felt around the world right now 🌡️ and the risk of wildfires increases in such dry conditions.
