Former US troops with alleged links to neo-Nazis have reportedly reached the Ukrainian front lines, according to Russia’s RT network. The network acknowledges, however, that it is not entirely certain that the soldiers are in fact American or Ukrainian.
The Russian channel presents photos, which were allegedly posted by the former US soldiers on Instagram, while they have added geographical identification metadata to prove their claims that they are in eastern Ukraine.
At least six or seven Americans appear to have combat equipment while reportedly inspecting Ukrainian army battlefields, including trenches.
Some of the men in the photos are holding guns, although it is not clear if they are American or Ukrainian soldiers.
The faces in the photos have been altered so that their identities are not known.
According to some Russian commentators, US veterans have reportedly come to the area to train the Ukrainian army. The photos and videos were posted on the Instagram account of Forward Observations Group, a military brand. However, its members could also provide safety advice and regular training.
