“Fuel on the fire” is thrown by Dmitry Medvedev, in the shadow of statements allegedly made by Stian Jensen, his “right hand”. Jens Stoltenberg, according to which Ukraine can join the Alliance, in return the concession of territory to Russia.
“In the event that Ukraine agrees to leave disputed lands for the sake of joining NATO, he should even leave Kiev, the vice-chairman of the Security Council of Russia sarcastically stated on his Telegram channel.
Commenting on the remark of the director of the NATO Secretary General’s Office, Medvedev wrote: “Why? The idea is strange. The only question is that all the supposed “their” lands are highly contested. To get on the block [ΝΑΤΟ]the Kiev authorities should even leave Kiev itself, the capital of Ancient Russia,” he added.
“Well, they (Ukrainian authorities – TASS) should then move the capital to Lviv (St. Lviv western Ukraine). If, of course, let the Poles agree”Medvedev remarked mockingly.
It is noted that the statement of the NATO official provoked the wrath of Kiev. The adviser to the Ukrainian president Zelensky Mihailo Podoliak strongly criticized the idea of Ukraine joining NATO by giving up part of its territory.
