Concern and reflection on the health of the minority leader of the US Senate Mitch McConnell causes his new “freeze” in front of the cameras while he was giving a press conference again. A similar incident with McConnell had occurred on July.

The incident occurred when McConnell, 81, was asked about his re-election bid in 2026. The Republican politician suddenly stopped speaking, his gaze fixed on space. After 10 seconds, an aide tries to repeat the reporter’s question, getting no response from an expressionless McConnell. “Sorry, we need a minute” he states, winking, yet when a member of security comes to take the politician away, he remains in his seat.

The senator appeared to regain his composure after about 30 seconds of silence, clears his throat and declares, “okay.”

It is recalled that in March the 81-year-old politician was absent from office for six weeks after a fall in which he hit his head. According to the announcement at the time, he had suffered a concussion and a fractured rib. The Republican politician is expected to be a candidate up for re-election in 2026.
