21-year-old Daniel Abed Khalifi, who was on trial for terrorism and for violation of the State Secrets Act and worked in the Wadsworth Prison kitchen, managed to escape on Monday morning and was tied up under a catering truck, authorities said.
He was arrested yesterday in west London while cycling along a canal.
“Charges have been laid against the man who was arrested after he escaped from Wadsworth Prison. Daniel Abed Khalifi, 21 years oldwill appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday 11 September”.
Khalifa, who was discharged from the army in May, was accused of attempting to gather information during his service in the British Army that could be useful to a person who would commit or plan a terrorist act. He also allegedly staged a bomb hoax by placing three wire-wired boxes on a desk.
