The channel said on its website that it called the police.
A man was arrested today after touching the buttocks of a live-streaming journalist on a Madrid street, Spain’s national police said, just days after the president of the Football Association, Luis Rubiales, resigned for he forcibly kissed a female player on the mouth.
In a post on Platform X, police said “a man was arrested after sexually assaulting a female reporter while she was broadcasting live on television.”

The post is accompanied by a photo of the perpetrator, handcuffed, between two police officers who are removing him from the scene.
Early this afternoon, the journalist Isa Balado was on a street in Madrid and, online with the channel Cuatro, was broadcasting her report on an armed robbery.
In the shot, while she is holding her microphone and looking at the camera, a man appears behind her, who approaches her and touches her buttocks.
The young reporter asks him to let her do her job.
From the set, the presenter interjects: “I’m sorry, Isa, I’m interrupting you, but did you get your bum?” and then asks to speak to him: “Give me that idiot” he is heard saying.
The reporter confirms the fact and again addresses the assailant, who is wearing sunglasses, asking to let her work. While she asks him to leave, the man strokes her hair and is seen walking away.
The journalist is heard apologizing and the presenter on the set reassures her and declares: “We have videotaped him (…) You don’t need to apologise. You’re doing your job and this idiot comes and touches you without having any right.”
The channel said on its website that it called the police.
One of the best-known journalists of the channel, Diego Losada, who is famous in Spain, said that “the attack on Isa was an attack on all of us.
In a society that we want to make better, these things are not allowed to happen, this sense of impunity cannot exist anymore.”
Interim Equality Minister Irene Montero wrote on Platform X: “Non-consensual touching constitutes sexual violence and we say: enough with impunity.”
For three weeks Spain has been rocked by the case of Luis Rubiales, the former president of the Football Federation who resigned after kissing Jennifer Hermoso, a player of the national team that won the Women’s World Cup, on the mouth live.
Rubiales resigned after Hermoso filed a lawsuit against him and will appear before an investigator next Friday to testify as a sexual assault suspect.
